Beta Trailer For Halo 5 Guardians Was Real In-Game Footage: 2015 Release Date On Xbox One
A common accusation against newer video games is that when developers claim the trailer is real in-game footage people don’t believe them. Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries however assures gamers that the Halo 5 Beta trailer featuring the 4v4 arena match was all taken from the engine and was not CG.
If anything this tid-bit revealed at Gamescom is a testament to the power of the Xbox One machine. People can’t believe it looks that good. The trailer for Ryse and Quantum Break have has similar accusations despite the developers insisting the engine portions of the video really were taken from in-game.
Halo 5 Guardians will be released exclusively on the Xbox One in 2015, though and exact date has not yet been announced.
The fifth instalment of the futuristic shooter will see its Beta phase launch December 29th and run until January 17th. This will focus on the four-on-four arena battles, that were popular in Halo 1 and 2.
It has also been announced that the “Halo Channel” (a hub for Halo content on the Xbox One) will reward viewers with in-game unlockables.
“When you get to the end of a show it will show you all the things you’ve unlocked and experienced,” says executive producer Kiki Wolfkill. “Another key part of that is rewarding you for the things you’ve done in the channel and ecosystem. So, Halo: Nightfall for instance will have unlocks in The Master Chief Collection and in the Halo 5 beta that will carry into Halo 5 and vice versa.
