HTC One M9 Suffers Poor Sales Despite Getting Great Reviews!

The HTC One M9 is the newest phone from HTC. Although the reviews of the phone seem to have been good overall, it’s not quite living up to expectations. It’s certainly not a bad flagship smartphone though. The HTC One M9 has a 5-inch, 1080p screen, comes with 3GB of RAM, and uses the Snapdragon 810 processor.

A variant of the HTC One M9, the HTC One M9+, has nearly the same specs, but instead, it has a 5.2-inch, 1440p screen, and uses a Mediatek chipset instead of the Snapdragon 810 processor. The Snapdragon 810 processor is known to have some overheating issues, which is why many OEMs have shyed away from using it in their latest flagship smartphones. The HTC One M9+ recently went on sale in India for just Rs. 52,000. The main reason for the HTC One M9 having some trouble is its poor sales. HTC used to be one of the best high-end Android smartphone manufacturers.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have proved to be extremely popular this year. Both phones are selling much better than Samsung anticipated, especially the S6 Edge. The sales of the S6 and S6 Edge have been eating into the sales of the HTC One M9 significantly, which is becoming an issue for HTC. Although HTC released the HTC One M9 just last month, its revenues for April fell over 30%. In the past, Samsung was known for making more affordable flagship smartphones, as well as releasing a line of mid-range Android smartphones. In fact, they typically release over a dozen new phones each year.

The HTC One M8

The outstanding success of this year’s Galaxy line has proven to be a bit of a headache for HTC. The HTC One M9 is a similar phone to last year’s HTC One M8, but HTC swapped out the camera for a more traditional 20.9-megapixel shooter. With that said, the camera quality doesn’t appear to be as good as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

With that said, HTC could turn things around in the upcoming months with the HTC One M9+. The HTC One M9+ is much more similar in specs to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which could lead more people to purchase the smartphone. The last thing HTC could do is drop the price of the phone, which would make it more appealing to potential buyers.
