Left 4 Dead 3 May be Worked on, Developer of the Game Still Unknown!

Left 4 Dead 3 will be the next game in the Left 4 Dead series. After the first two games were extremely popular, the company that made them, Turtle Rock Studios, left Valve to make Evolve, which released earlier this year. However, Evolve didn’t get a lot of good reviews, so it is unclear whether or not Turtle Rock Studios will return to make Left 4 Dead 3.

The reason why many people think Left 4 Dead 3 will be released before Half Life 3 is that the game is solely a multiplayer experience, and Valve has been focusing on multiplayer games recently. Additionally, there has been presentation slides leaked of Left 4 Dead 2 levels being remade in the Source 2 engine that is currently under development at Valve.

Another reason why Valve may put a priority on the game is that there are currently not very many cooperative shooters on the market. In most shooter games, you are playing against your friends, but the Left 4 Dead series is notable because you are actually playing with your friends a majority of the time. The only other major cooperative shooter on the market is the Payday series of games, which is popular on Valve’s Steam platform.

The Payday series focuses on you and your friends trying to be a successful bank heist crew, where the Left 4 Dead series focusing on trying to survive a zombie outbreak. There’s been some speculation that Turtle Rock Studios will return to Valve after Evolve’s disappointing reception. Left 4 Dead 3 has been in Valve’s Steam Database for a few years now, so we know they are at least interested in working on the game. Because we have evidence that they have used Left 4 Dead 2 when working with the Source 2 engine, there is a good chance that they’ve at least thought about making a third entry into the series.

Valve typically does not work on very many games at one time, nor do they tend to release very many games on a regular basis. Current efforts seem to suggest they have been working on Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with most of their resources. However, they still have the Half Life series, the Left 4 Dead series, as well as their Team Fortress series.
