Thor 3 Becomes More Exciting with Revelations from Avengers: Age of Ultron!
Warning: Contains Avengers: Age of Ultron minor spoilers. Thor 3 is in an interesting spot after the Avengers: Age of Ultron aired. The end of the movie focused on the Infinity Stones yet again, and there may be reason to believe that there is not one, but two Infinity Gauntlets floating around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are six Infinity Stones floating around the MCU, and we’ve seen three of them so far.
The Reality Stone is owned by The Collector, and can be seen at the end of Thor 2: The Dark World. The Nova Corps have the Power Stone, which was handed over to them at the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Finally, the Mind Stone, is in Vision’s forehead, which we found out at the end of the Avengers: Age of Ultron. What’s that mean for Thor 3? There are six more Marvel Cinematic Universe movies between now and Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.
Ant-Man debuts in a few weeks, and likely won’t have anything to do with an Infinity Stone. Nor will Captain America: Civil War, which will deal with a fight between Iron Man and Captain America. Both Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will most likely have an Infinity Stone in them at some point, which leaves the untitled Spider Man movie (slated for July 28th, 2017), and Thor 3. Of these two movies, Thor 3 is most likely to contain the last Infinity Stone. Odin’s fault has the Space Stone, along with an Infinity Gauntlet inside of it.
However, the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin’s vault is right handed, while the one Thanos (the villain in Avengers: Infinity War) wears is left handed. At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thanos can be seen wearing a left handed Infinity Gauntlet. Thor 3: Ragnarok will most likely have Loki making a deal with Thanos in order to bring about the Ragnarok – an event in which Asgard is nearly destroyed.
The overarching plot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes Thor 3 an especially interesting movie as it’s the last movie before Avengers: Infinity War Part 1. While Thor 3 is a few years away, its relationship to the other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies makes it worth keeping an eye on, especially as other MCU movies start to come out.
