West Ham Joins Other Premiership Teams Looking To Sign Chicharito From Real Madrid!
The Mexican national star is still at Real Madrid until the Summer in loan deal from Manchester United, but all indicators suggest he won’t be with either of those teams come the new season. The main reason is the lack of play time both mega-clubs can offer.
Chicharito will still have several months left on his contract when he returns to United, meaning the wise option is to sell him quick. If the deal expires he could then walk to another club for free. There is currently no sign that Louis van Gaal wants him to stick around.
Despite sharing a lot of positive words about the 26 year old, Carlo Ancelotti is also unlikely to try and keep him around once the loan with Real Madrid expires. Los Blancos has first dibs on a permanent deal, but Chicharito is not a starting line-up player for them and he’ll want to experience his prime years at a club that will see him as an integral part of the first team.
Strategically Ancelotti says he is an important asset, somebody who can be brought on at half time to hold the fort, but that’s simply not where Chicharito wants to be.
In monetary terms the rumor is that West Ham are floating an £8 million figure, but we assume this could go higher.
Other clubs said to be interested in the striker include Arsenal and Tottenham. Come the summer he may find himself at the middle of a bidding war from English clubs looking to re-energize their front two.
With West Ham set to sell Carlton Cole in the Summer and failing to snap up Emmanuel Adebaoyor from Tottenham on a loan in the last window, they’re still eager to get a fresh pair of world class legs up front. Chicharito certainly fits the bill and has a history of goal scoring seasons in his early Man U years.
