According to the NRA, the shooting in Las Vegas could not be prevented

As a result of the tragedy at the country music festival, politicians have urged higher restrictions on gun possession regulations.
Nevertheless, following the incident leaving 58 people dead and more than 500 injured, the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) representatives declared that “there’s nothing that could have been done, unfortunately, to prevent this tragedy”.
In addition, the Trump Administration considered that the issue of gun control across the U.S. territory would be discussed “as time goes on”, despite numerous opponents warning that the perfect moment was now.
“The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get. Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again,” commented Hillary Clinton.
According to the investigators, Stephen Paddock’s semi-automatic arsenal was legally purchased. Despite the incident, the NRA clearly stated that it would oppose a potential ban on these kind of devices.
