California Camping Trip Ends with Father Shot Dead in Front of Daughters
Scientist Tristan Beaudette, 35, was shot to death in front of his two daughters while on a camping trip in Southern California
The two young daughters, aged 2 and 4, had to witness in complete terror as their father was shot to death during their recreational trip in Southern California.
When deputies found him in a tent at the Malibu Creek State Park Campsite, the girls were unharmed while their father was bleeding from a severe chest wound.
Tristan decided to take the girls on a trip so that his wife, who is a doctor, could peacefully study for an exam, reports say. He was a scientists for a pharmaceutical company, and they were going to move to the Bay Area.
“And then it was all taken away, by a fatal gunshot in the middle of the night, in front of his two young daughters,” the GoFundMe page said. “Not a second goes by that we aren’t grappling with the senselessness of this crime.”
For the moment, deputies said that they have no leads, no suspect and no motive, KCBS Los Angeles reported.
“We are working this as a homicide at this point. We are gathering evidence … It will take some time,” Lt. Rodney Moore of the L.A. County Sheriff’s office said
At the same time, it is generally known that the area where the traffic event happened is frequented by hikers and day trekkers.
